4Howbeit the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵי֩'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֨לYis.ra.'ElH3478choseוַיִּבְחַ֡רvai.yiv.CharH977me before all the houseבֵּית־beit-H1004of my fatherאָבִ֗י'a.ViH1to be kingלְמֶ֤לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428over Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478for everלְעוֹלָ֔םle.'o.LamH5769:for he hath chosenבָּחַ֣רba.CharH977Judahבִֽיהוּדָה֙vi.hu.DahH3063to bethe rulerלְנָגִ֔ידle.na.GidH5057;and of the houseוּבְבֵ֥יתu.ve.VeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063,the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of my fatherאָבִ֑י'a.ViH1;and among the sonsוּבִבְנֵ֣יu.viv.NeiH1121of my fatherאָבִ֔י'a.ViH1he likedרָצָ֔הra.TzahH7521me to make mekingלְהַמְלִ֖יךְle.ham.LikhH4427over all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478:

5And of all my sonsבָּנַ֔יba.NaiH1121, (for the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068hath givenנָ֥תַןNa.tanH5414me manyרַבִּ֣יםra.BimH7227sonsבָּנִ֔יםba.NimH1121,)he hath chosenוַיִּבְחַר֙vai.yiv.CharH977Solomonבִּשְׁלֹמֹ֣הbish.lo.MohH8010my sonבְנִ֔יve.NiH1121to sitלָשֶׁ֗בֶתla.She.vetH3427upon the throneכִּסֵּ֛אki.Se'H3678of the kingdomמַלְכ֥וּתmal.KhutH4438of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068over Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

6And he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto me, Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֣הshe.lo.MohH8010thy sonבִנְךָ֔vin.KhaH1121,he shall buildיִבְנֶ֥הyiv.NehH1129my houseבֵיתִ֖יvei.TiH1004and my courtsוַחֲצֵרוֹתָ֑יva.cha.tze.ro.TaiH2691:for I have chosenבָחַ֨רְתִּיva.Char.tiH977him to bemy sonלְבֵ֔ןle.VenH1121,and I will be his fatherלְאָֽב׃le.'AvH1.

7Moreover I will establishוַהֲכִינוֹתִ֥יva.ha.khi.no.TiH3559his kingdomמַלְכוּת֖וֹmal.khu.ToH4438for everלְעוֹלָ֑םle.'o.LamH5769,if he be constantיֶחֱזַ֗קye.che.ZakH2388to doלַעֲשׂ֛וֹתla.'a.SotH6213my commandmentsמִצְוֹתַ֥יmitz.vo.TaiH4687and my judgmentsוּמִשְׁפָּטַ֖יu.mish.pa.TaiH4941,as at this dayכַּיּ֥וֹםkai.YomH3117.

8Now therefore in the sightלְעֵינֵ֨יle.'ei.NeiH5869of all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֤לYis.ra.'ElH3478the congregationקְהַל־ke.hal-H6951of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,and in the audienceוּבְאָזְנֵ֣יu.ve.'a.ze.NeiH241of our Godאֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430,keepשִׁמְר֣וּshim.RuH8104and seekוְדִרְשׁ֔וּve.dir.ShuH1875for all the commandmentsמִצְוֹ֖תmitz.VotH4687of the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430:that ye may possessתִּֽירְשׁוּ֙ti.re.ShuH3423this goodהַטּוֹבָ֔הha.to.VahH2896landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776, and leave itfor an inheritanceוְהִנְחַלְתֶּ֛םve.hin.chal.TemH5157for your childrenלִבְנֵיכֶ֥םliv.nei.KhemH1121afterאַחֲרֵיכֶ֖ם'a.cha.rei.KhemH310you forעַד־'ad-H5704everעוֹלָֽם׃ פo.LamH5769.
