Job 35

Elihu Recalls God’s Justice
1And ElihuH453 went onH6030 to sayH559:
2“Do you thinkH2803 thisH2063 is justH4941?You sayH559, ‘I am more righteousH6664 than GodH410.’13ForH3588 you askH559, ‘WhatH4100 does it profitH5532 me,and whatH4100 benefit do I gainH3276 apart from sinH2403?’4IH589 will replyH7725 to youH4405and to your friendsH7453 as wellH5973.5LookH5027 to the heavensH8064 and seeH7200;gazeH7789 at the cloudsH7834 highH1361 above youH4480.6IfH518 you sinH2398, whatH4100 do you accomplishH6466 against Him?If you multiplyH7231 your transgressionsH6588, whatH4100 do you doH6213 to Him?7IfH518 you are righteousH6663, whatH4100 do you giveH5414 Him,orH176 whatH4100 does He receiveH3947 from your handH3027?8Your wickednessH7562 affects only a manH376 like yourselfH3644,and your righteousnessH6666 only a sonH1121 of manH120.
9Men cry outH2199 under greatH7230 oppressionH6217;they plead for reliefH7768 from the armH2220 of the mightyH7227.10But noH3808 one asksH559, ‘WhereH346 is GodH433 my MakerH6213,who gives usH5414 songsH2158 in the nightH3915,11who teaches usH502 more than the beastsH929 of the earthH776and makes us wiserH2449 than the birdsH5775 of the airH8064?’12ThereH8033 they cry outH6817, but He does notH3808 answerH6030,because ofH6440 the prideH1347 of evil menH7451.13SurelyH389 GodH410 does notH3808 listenH8085 to empty pleasH7723,and the AlmightyH7706 does notH3808 take note of itH7789.14How much lessH637, then, whenH3588 you sayH559 that you do notH3808 see HimH7789,that your caseH1779 is before HimH6440 and you must waitH2342 for Him,15and furtherH6258, thatH3588 in His angerH639 He has not punishedH369H6485or taken much noticeH3045H3966 of follyH6580!16So JobH347 opensH6475 his mouthH6310 in vainH1892and multipliesH3527 wordsH4405 withoutH1097 knowledgeH1847.”
