Elihu Rebukes Job’s Friends

1So theseH428 threeH7969 menH582 stoppedH7673 answeringH6030 JobH347, becauseH3588 heH1931 was righteousH6662 in his own eyesH5869.

2This kindledH2734 the angerH639 of ElihuH453 sonH1121 of BarachelH1292 the BuziteH940, of the familyH4940 of RamH7410. He burnedH2734 with angerH639 against JobH347 forH5921 justifyingH6663 himselfH5315 rather than GodH430, 3and he burnedH2734 with angerH639 against Job’s threeH7969 friendsH7453 becauseH5921 they had failedH3808H4672 to refuteH4617 Job, and yet had condemnedH7561 himH347.

4Now ElihuH453 had waitedH2442 to speakH1697 to JobH347 becauseH3588 the othersH1992 were olderH2205 than heH4480. 5But when heH453 sawH7200 thatH3588 the threeH7969 menH582 had noH369 further replyH4617H6310, his angerH639 was kindledH2734. 6So ElihuH453 sonH1121 of BarachelH1292 the BuziteH940H559 declaredH6030:

“IH589 am youngH6810 in yearsH3117,while youH859 are oldH3453;that is whyH5921H3651 I was timidH2119 and afraidH3372to tell youH2331 what I knowH1843.7I thoughtH559 that ageH3117 should speakH1696,and manyH7230 yearsH8141 should teachH3045 wisdomH2451.8ButH403 there is a spiritH73071 in a manH582,the breathH5397 of the AlmightyH7706,that gives him understandingH995.9It is not onlyH3808 the oldH72272 who are wiseH2449,or the elderlyH2205 who understandH995 justiceH4941.10ThereforeH3651 I sayH559, ‘ListenH8085 to me;IH589 tooH637 will declareH2331 what I knowH1843.’
11IndeedH2005, I waitedH3176 while you spokeH1697;I listenedH238 toH5704 your reasoningH8394;asH5704 you searchedH2713 for wordsH4405,12I paid you full attentionH995H2009H5704.But no oneH369 proved JobH347 wrongH3198;not one ofH4480 you rebuttedH6030 his argumentsH561.13So do notH6435 claimH559, ‘We have foundH4672 wisdomH2451;let GodH410, notH3808 manH376, refute himH5086.’14But Job has notH3808 directedH6186 his wordsH4405 against meH413,and I will notH3808 answer himH7725 with your argumentsH561.
15Job’s friends are dismayedH2865, with noH3808 moreH5750 to sayH6030;wordsH4405 have escapedH6275 them.16Must I waitH3176, now thatH3588 they are silentH3808H1696,now thatH3588 they standH5975 and noH3808 longerH5750 replyH6030?17IH589H2506 tooH637 will answerH6030;yesH637, IH589 will declareH2331 what I knowH1843.18ForH3588 I am full ofH4390 wordsH4405,and my spiritH7307 within meH990 compels meH6693.19BeholdH2009, my bellyH990 is like unventedH3808H6605 wineH3196;it is about to burstH1234 like a newH2319 wineskinH178.20I must speakH1696 and find reliefH7304;I must openH6605 my lipsH8193 and respondH6030.21I will be partialH5375H6440 to noH408H4994 oneH376H413,nor willH3808 I flatterH3655 any manH120.22ForH3588 I do notH3808 know howH3045 to flatterH3655,or my MakerH6213 would remove meH5375 in an instantH4592.
