13Nevertheless, the menהָאֲנָשִׁ֗יםha.'a.na.ShimH582rowed hardוַיַּחְתְּר֣וּvai.yach.te.RuH2864to get backלְהָשִׁ֛יבle.ha.ShivH7725toאֶל־'el-H413dry landהַיַּבָּשָׁ֖הhai.ya.ba.ShahH3004,but theyוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808could notיָכֹ֑לוּya.Kho.luH3201,forכִּ֣יkiH3588the seaהַיָּ֔םhai.YamH3220was ragingוְסֹעֵ֖רve.so.'ErH5590against themעֲלֵיהֶֽם׃'a.lei.HemH5921more and moreהוֹלֵ֥ךְho.LekhH1980.

14So they cried outוַיִּקְרְא֨וּvai.yik.re.'UH7121toאֶל־'el-H413the LORDיְהוָ֜ה וַיֹּאמְר֗וּYah.weh vai.yo.me.RuH3068 H559: “Pleaseאָנָּ֤ה'a.NahH577,O LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,do notאַל־ נָ֣א'al- na'H408 H4994let us perishנֹאבְדָ֗הnov.DahH6on account of thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088man’sהָאִ֣ישׁha.'IshH376lifeבְּנֶ֙פֶשׁ֙be.Ne.feshH5315!Do notוְאַל־ve.'al-H408chargeתִּתֵּ֥ןti.TenH5414usעָלֵ֖ינוּ'a.Lei.nuH5921with innocentנָקִ֑יאna.Ki'H5355bloodדָּ֣םdamH1818!Forכִּֽי־ki-H3588Youאַתָּ֣ה'a.TahH859,O LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,have doneעָשִֽׂיתָ׃'a.Si.taH6213asכַּאֲשֶׁ֥רka.'a.SherH834You pleasedחָפַ֖צְתָּcha.Fatz.taH2654.”

15Then they picked upוַיִּשְׂאוּ֙vai.yis.'UH5375אֶת־'et-H853Jonahיוֹנָ֔הyo.NahH3124and cast himוַיְטִלֻ֖הוּvay.ti.Lu.huH2904intoאֶל־'el-H413the seaהַיָּ֑םhai.YamH3220,and the ragingמִזַּעְפּֽוֹ׃mi.za'.PoH2197seaהַיָּ֖םhai.YamH3220grew calmוַיַּעֲמֹ֥דvai.ya.'a.ModH5975.

16Then the menהָאֲנָשִׁ֛ים יִרְאָ֥הha.'a.na.Shim yir.'AhH582 H3374fearedוַיִּֽירְא֧וּvai.yi.re.'UH3372the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068greatlyגְדוֹלָ֖הge.do.LahH1419אֶת־'et-H853,and they offeredוַיִּֽזְבְּחוּ־vai.yiz.be.chu-H2076a sacrificeזֶ֙בַח֙ze.vachH2077to the LORDלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068and madeוַֽיִּדְּר֖וּvai.yi.de.RuH5087vowsנְדָרִֽים׃ne.da.RimH5088to Him.
