Zephaniah 3
Revised Version 1895
1WoeH1945 to her that is rebellious and polluted, to the oppressingH3238 cityH5892! 2SheH3808 obeyedH8085 notH3808 the voiceH6963; sheH3808 receivedH3947 notH3808 correctionH4148; sheH3808 trustedH982 notH3808 in the LORDH3068; sheH3808 drewH7126 notH3808 nearH7126 to herH413 GodH430. 3HerH7130 princesH8269 in the midstH7130 of herH7130 are roaringH7580 lionsH738; herH7130 judgesH8199 are eveningH6153 wolvesH2061; they leave nothingH3808 till the morrow. 4HerH376 prophetsH5030 are light and treacherousH900 personsH376: herH376 priestsH3548 have profanedH2490 the sanctuaryH6944, they have doneH2554 violenceH2554 to the lawH8451. 5The LORDH3068 in the midstH7130 of herH5414 is righteousH6662; he will notH3808 doH6213 iniquityH5766; everyH1242 morningH1242 doth he bringH5414 his judgmentH4941 to lightH216, he faileth notH3808; but the unjustH5766 knoweth noH3808 shameH1322. 6I have cutH3772 offH3772 nationsH1471, their battlements are desolateH8074; I have madeH3772 their streetsH2351 wasteH8074, that noneH369 passeth by: their citiesH5892 are destroyedH3772, soH5674 that there is noH369 manH376, that there is noneH369 inhabitantH3427. 7I saidH559, SurelyH389 thou wilt fearH3372 meH5921, thou wilt receiveH3947 correctionH4148; soH3947 herH3605 dwellingH4585 should notH3808 be cutH3772 offH3772, accordingH5921 to allH3605 that I have appointedH6485 concerning herH3605: but they roseH7925 earlyH7925 and corruptedH7843 allH3605 their doings. 8Therefore waitH2442 ye for meH5921, saith the LORDH3068, untilH5921 the dayH3117 that I riseH6965 upH6965 to the preyH5706: for my determination is to gatherH6908 the nationsH1471, that I may assembleH622 the kingdomsH4467, to pourH8210 uponH5921 them mine indignationH2195, evenH3588 allH3605 my fierceH2740 angerH639; for allH3605 the earthH776 shall be devouredH398 with the fireH784 of my jealousyH7068. 9For then will I turnH2015 to the peoplesH5971 a pureH1305 languageH8193, that they may allH3605 callH7121 uponH7121 the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068, to serveH5647 him with one consent. 10From beyondH5676 the riversH5104 of EthiopiaH3568 my suppliants, even the daughterH1323 of my dispersedH6327, shall bringH2986 mine offering. 11In that dayH3117 shalt thou notH3808 be ashamedH954 for allH3605 thy doings, whereinH834 thou hast transgressedH6586 againstH6586 meH3254: for then I will takeH5493 awayH5493 outH3605 of the midstH7130 of thee thy proudlyH1346 exultingH5947 onesH5947, and thou shalt noH3808 moreH5750 be haughty in my holyH6944 mountainH2022. 12But I will leaveH7604 in the midstH7130 of thee an afflictedH6041 and poorH6041 peopleH5971, and they shall trust in the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068. 13The remnantH7611 of IsraelH3478 shall notH3808 doH6213 iniquityH5766, norH3808 speakH1696 liesH3577; neitherH3808 shall a deceitful tongueH3956 be foundH4672 in their mouthH6310: for they shall feedH7462 and lieH7257 downH7257, and noneH369 shall makeH6213 them afraidH2729. 14SingH7442, O daughterH1323 of ZionH6726; shoutH7321, O IsraelH3478; be gladH8055 and rejoiceH8055 with allH3605 the heartH3820, O daughterH1323 of JerusalemH3389. 15The LORDH3068 hath takenH5493 awayH5493 thy judgmentsH4941, he hath cast outH7451 thine enemyH341: the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, evenH5750 the LORDH3068, is in the midstH7130 of thee: thou shalt notH3808 fearH3372 evilH7451 anyH5750 moreH5750. 16In that dayH3117 it shall be saidH559 to JerusalemH3389, FearH3372 thou notH408: O ZionH6726, letH7503 notH408 thine handsH3027 be slackH7503. 17The LORDH3068 thy GodH430 is in the midstH7130 of thee, a mightyH1368 one who will saveH3467: he will rejoiceH1523 over thee with joyH8057, he will rest in his loveH160, he will joyH8057 over thee with singingH7440. 18I will gatherH622 them that sorrowH5921 for the solemn assemblyH4150, who were of thee: to whom the burdenH4864 uponH5921 herH5921 was a reproachH2781. 19BeholdH2005, at that time I will dealH6213 with allH3605 them that afflictH6031 thee: and I will saveH3467 herH3605 that halteth, and gatherH6908 herH3605 that was drivenH5080 awayH5080; and I will makeH7760 them a praiseH8416 and a nameH8034, whoseH3605 shameH1322 hath been in allH3605 the earthH776. 20At that time will I bringH935 youH3588 in, and at that time will I gatherH6908 youH3588: for I will makeH5414 youH3588 a nameH8034 and a praiseH8416 among allH3605 the peoplesH5971 of the earthH776, when I bringH935 againH7725 your captivityH7622 beforeH5869 your eyesH5869, saith the LORDH3068.
