Leviticus 20
Revised Version 1895
1And the LORDH3068 spake unto MosesH4872, sayingH559, 2Moreover, thou shalt sayH559 to the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, Whosoever he be of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, or of the strangersH1616 that sojourn in IsraelH3478, that giveth of his seedH2233 unto MolechH4432; he shall surelyH4191 be putH5414 to deathH4191: the peopleH5971 of the landH776 shall stoneH68 him with stonesH68. 3I also will setH5414 my faceH6440 againstH6440 that manH376, and will cutH3772 him offH3772 from among his peopleH5971; becauseH3588 he hath givenH5414 of his seedH2233 unto MolechH4432, to defileH2930 my sanctuaryH4720, and to profaneH2490 my holyH6944 nameH8034. 4And ifH518 the peopleH5971 of the landH776 doH518 anyH4480 ways hideH5956 their eyesH5869 from that manH376, when he giveth of his seedH2233 unto MolechH4432, and putH5414 him notH1115 to deathH4191: 5then I will setH7760 my faceH6440 againstH6440 that manH376, and againstH6440 his familyH4940, and will cutH3772 him offH3772, and allH3605 that go a whoring afterH310 him, to commitH2181 whoredom with MolechH4432, from among their peopleH5971. 6And the soulH5315 that turneth unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto the wizards, to go a whoring afterH310 them, I will evenH853 setH5414 my faceH6440 againstH413 that soulH5315, and will cutH3772 him offH3772 from among his peopleH5971. 7SanctifyH6942 yourselves therefore, and be ye holyH6918: for I am the LORDH3068 your GodH430. 8And ye shall keepH8104 my statutesH2708, and doH6213 them: I am the LORDH3068 whichH2708 sanctifyH6942 youH6213. 9For everyH376 one that curseth his fatherH1 or his motherH517 shall surelyH3588 be putH4191 to deathH4191: he hath cursedH7043 his fatherH1 or his motherH517; his bloodH1818 shall be upon him. 10And the manH376 that committeth adulteryH5003 with anotherH7453 man’sH376 wifeH802, evenH7453 he that committeth adulteryH5003 with his neighbour’s wifeH802, the adultererH5003 and the adulteressH5003 shall surelyH4191 be putH4191 to deathH4191. 11And the manH376 that lieth with his father’sH1 wifeH802 hath uncoveredH1540 his father’sH1 nakednessH6172: bothH8147 of them shall surelyH4191 be putH4191 to deathH4191; their bloodH1818 shall be uponH802 them. 12And ifH834 a manH376 lieH7901 with his daughter in law, bothH8147 of them shall surelyH4191 be putH4191 to deathH4191: they have wrought confusion; their bloodH1818 shall be upon them. 13And ifH834 a manH376 lieH7901 with mankind, as with womankind, bothH8147 of them have committedH6213 abominationH8441: they shall surelyH4191 be putH4191 to deathH4191; their bloodH1818 shall be uponH802 them. 14And ifH834 a manH376 takeH3947 a wifeH802 and herH3947 motherH517, it is wickednessH2154: they shall be burntH8313 with fireH784, both he and they; that there be noH3808 wickednessH2154 among youH834. 15And ifH834 a manH376 lie with a beastH929, he shall surelyH4191 be putH5414 to deathH4191: and ye shall slayH2026 the beastH929. 16And ifH834 a womanH802 approachH7126 unto anyH3605 beastH929, and lie downH7250 thereto, thou shalt killH2026 the womanH802, and the beastH929: they shall surelyH4191 be putH4191 to deathH4191; their bloodH1818 shall be uponH413 them. 17And ifH834 a manH376 shall takeH3947 his sisterH269, his father’sH1 daughterH1323, or his mother’sH517 daughterH1323, and seeH7200 herH1540 nakednessH6172, and sheH1931 seeH7200 his nakednessH6172; it is a shameful thingH1931; and they shall be cutH3772 offH3772 in the sightH5869 of the childrenH1121 of their peopleH5971: he hath uncoveredH1540 his sister’sH269 nakednessH6172; he shall bearH5375 his iniquityH5771. 18And ifH834 a manH376 shall lieH7901 with a womanH802 having herH1540 sickness, and shall uncoverH1540 herH1540 nakednessH6172; he hath madeH3772 nakedH6168 herH1540 fountainH4726, and sheH1931 hath uncoveredH1540 the fountainH4726 of herH1540 bloodH1818: and bothH8147 of them shall be cutH3772 offH3772 from among their peopleH5971. 19And thou shalt notH3808 uncoverH1540 the nakednessH6172 of thy mother’sH517 sisterH269, norH3808 of thy father’sH1 sisterH269: for he hath madeH6168 nakedH6168 his nearH3808 kin: they shall bearH5375 their iniquityH5771. 20And ifH834 a manH376 shall lieH7901 with his uncle’sH1730 wifeH1733, he hath uncoveredH1540 his uncle’sH1730 nakednessH6172: they shall bearH5375 their sinH2399; they shall dieH4191 childlessH6185. 21And ifH834 a manH376 shall takeH3947 his brother’sH251 wifeH802, it is impurityH5079: he hath uncoveredH1540 his brother’sH251 nakednessH6172; they shall be childlessH6185. 22Ye shall therefore keepH8104 allH3605 my statutesH2708, and allH3605 my judgmentsH4941, and doH6213 them: that the landH776, whither I bringH935 youH834 to dwellH3427 therein, vomitH6958 youH834 notH3808 outH3605. 23And ye shall notH3808 walk in the customsH2708 of the nationH1471, whichH834 I castH7971 outH7971 beforeH6440 youH834: for they didH6213 allH3605 theseH428 things, and therefore I abhorredH6973 them. 24But I have saidH559 unto youH859, Ye shall inheritH3423 their landH776, and I will giveH5414 it unto youH859 to possessH3423 it, a landH776 flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706: I am the LORDH3068 your GodH430, whichH834 have separatedH914 youH859 from the peoplesH5971. 25Ye shall therefore separateH914 betweenH996 the cleanH2889 beastH929 and the uncleanH2931, and betweenH996 the uncleanH2931 fowlH5775 and the cleanH2889: and ye shall notH3808 makeH914 your soulsH5315 abominable by beastH929, or by fowlH5775, or by anyH3605 thingH3605 wherewith the groundH127 teemeth, whichH834 I have separatedH914 from youH834 as uncleanH2931. 26And ye shall be holyH6918 unto meH4480: for I the LORDH3068 am holyH6918, and have separatedH914 youH3588 from the peoplesH5971, that ye should be mineH4480. 27A manH376 also or a womanH802 that hath a familiar spiritH178, or that is a wizard, shall surelyH3588 be putH4191 to deathH4191: they shall stoneH68 them with stonesH68: their bloodH1818 shall be uponH1961 them.
