Leviticus 17
Revised Version 1895
1And the LORDH3068 spake unto MosesH4872, sayingH559, 2SpeakH1696 unto AaronH175, and unto his sonsH1121, and unto allH3605 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, and sayH559 unto them; This is the thingH1697 whichH834 the LORDH3068 hath commandedH6680, sayingH559, 3WhatH834 manH376 soever there be of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, that killeth an oxH7794, or lambH3775, or goatH5795, in the campH4264, or that killeth it without the campH4264, 4and hath notH3808 broughtH935 it unto the doorH6607 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150, to offerH7126 it as an oblation unto the LORDH3068 beforeH6440 the tabernacleH4908 of the LORDH3068: bloodH1818 shall be imputed unto that manH376; he hath shedH8210 bloodH1818; and that manH376 shall be cutH3772 offH3772 from among his peopleH5971: 5To the end that the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 may bringH935 their sacrificesH2077, whichH834 they sacrificeH2077 in the openH6440 fieldH7704, evenH853 that they may bringH935 them unto the LORDH3068, unto the doorH6607 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150, unto the priestH3548, and sacrificeH2077 them for sacrificesH2077 of peaceH8002 offeringsH8002 unto the LORDH3068. 6And the priestH3548 shall sprinkleH2236 the bloodH1818 uponH5921 the altarH4196 of the LORDH3068 at the doorH6607 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150, and burnH6999 the fatH2459 for a sweet savour unto the LORDH3068. 7And they shall noH3808 moreH5750 sacrificeH2077 their sacrificesH2077 unto the he-goats, afterH310 whomH834 they goH1961 a whoring. This shall be a statuteH2708 for everH5769 unto them throughoutH1755 their generationsH1755. 8And thou shalt sayH559 unto them, Whatsoever manH376 there be of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, or of the strangersH1616 that sojourn among them, that offereth a burntH5930 offering or sacrificeH2077, 9and bringeth it notH3808 unto the doorH6607 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150, to sacrifice it unto the LORDH3068; evenH3808 that manH376 shall be cutH3772 offH3772 from his peopleH5971. 10And whatsoeverH3605 manH376 there be of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, or of the strangersH1616 that sojourn among them, that eateth anyH3605 manner of bloodH1818; I will setH5414 my faceH6440 againstH4480 that soulH5315 that eateth bloodH1818, and will cutH3772 him offH3772 from among his peopleH5971. 11For the lifeH5315 of the fleshH1320 is in the bloodH1818: and I have givenH5414 it to youH3588 uponH5921 the altarH4196 to makeH5414 atonementH3722 for your soulsH5315: for it is the bloodH1818 that maketh atonementH3722 by reasonH5921 of the lifeH5315. 12Therefore I saidH559 unto the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, NoH3808 soulH5315 of youH3605 shall eatH398 bloodH1818, neitherH3808 shall anyH3605 strangerH1616 that sojourneth among youH3605 eatH398 bloodH1818. 13And whatsoever manH376 there be of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, or of the strangersH1616 that sojourn among them, whichH834 taketh in hunting anyH4480 beastH2416 or fowlH5775 that may be eatenH398; he shall pourH8210 outH4480 the bloodH1818 thereof, and coverH3680 it with dustH6083. 14For as to the lifeH5315 of allH3605 fleshH1320, the bloodH1818 thereof is allH3605 one with the lifeH5315 thereof: therefore I saidH559 unto the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, Ye shall eatH398 the bloodH1818 of noH3808 manner of fleshH1320: for the lifeH5315 of allH3605 fleshH1320 is the bloodH1818 thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cutH3772 offH3772. 15And everyH3605 soulH5315 that eateth that whichH834 dieth of itself, or that whichH834 is tornH2966 of beastsH2966, whether he be homeborn or a strangerH1616, he shall washH3526 his clothesH899, and batheH7364 himselfH5315 in waterH4325, and be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 the evenH5704: then shall he be cleanH2891. 16But ifH518 he washH3526 them notH3808, norH3808 batheH7364 his fleshH1320, then he shall bearH5375 his iniquityH5771.
