Revised Version 1895
Isaiah 63:1-9
Who is this that cometh from EdomH123, with dyed garmentsH899 from BozrahH1224? this that is glorious in his apparelH3830, marchingH6808 in the greatnessH7230 of his strengthH3581? I that speakH1696 in righteousnessH6666, mightyH7230 to saveH3467.
Wherefore art thou redH122 in thine apparelH3830, and thy garmentsH899 like him that treadeth in the winefat?
I have troddenH1869 the winepress aloneH905; and of the peoplesH5971 there was noH369 manH376 with meH5921: yea, I trodH1869 them in mine angerH639, and trampledH7429 them in my furyH2534; and their lifebloodH5332 is sprinkled uponH5921 my garmentsH899, and I have stainedH1351 allH3605 my raimentH4403.
For the dayH3117 of vengeanceH5359 was in mine heartH3820, and the yearH8141 of my redeemedH1350 is comeH935.
And I lookedH5027, and there was noneH369 to helpH5826; and I wondered that there was noneH369 to upholdH5564: therefore mine own armH2220 broughtH3467 salvationH3467 unto meH3467; and my furyH2534, it upheldH5564 meH3467.
And I trodH947 downH3381 the peoplesH5971 in mine angerH639, and madeH7937 them drunkH7937 in my furyH2534, and I pouredH3381 out their lifebloodH5332 on the earthH776.
I will makeH2142 mentionH2142 of the lovingkindnesses of the LORDH3068, and the praisesH8416 of the LORDH3068, accordingH5921 to allH3605 that the LORDH3068 hath bestowed on usH5921; and the greatH7227 goodnessH2898 towardH5921 the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, whichH834 he hath bestowed on them accordingH5921 to his merciesH7356, and accordingH5921 to the multitudeH7230 of his lovingkindnesses.
For he saidH559, SurelyH389, they are my peopleH5971, childrenH1121 that will notH3808 dealH8266 falselyH8266: soH1961 he was their saviour.
In allH3605 their affliction he was afflicted, and the angelH4397 of his presenceH6440 savedH3467 them: in his loveH160 and in his pity he redeemedH1350 them; and he bare them, and carriedH5375 them allH3605 the daysH3117 of oldH5769.
