Revised Version 1895
Deuteronomy 18:1-14
The priestsH3548 the LevitesH3881, evenH3808 allH3605 the tribeH7626 of LeviH3878, shall have noH3808 portionH2506 norH3808 inheritanceH5159 with IsraelH3478: they shall eatH398 the offeringsH801 of the LORDH3068 madeH1961 by fireH801, and his inheritanceH5159.
And they shall have noH3808 inheritanceH5159 among their brethrenH251: the LORDH3068 is their inheritanceH5159, as he hath spokenH1696 unto them.
And this shall be the priests’H3548 dueH4941 from the peopleH5971, from them that offerH2076 a sacrificeH2077, whetherH518 it be oxH7794 or sheepH7716, that they shall giveH5414 unto the priestH3548 the shoulderH2220, and the twoH2088 cheeksH3895, and the maw.
The firstfruits of thy corn, of thy wineH8492, and of thine oilH3323, and the firstH7225 of the fleeceH1488 of thy sheepH6629, shalt thou giveH5414 him.
For the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 hath chosenH977 him outH3605 of allH3605 thy tribesH7626, to standH5975 to ministerH8334 in the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068, him and his sonsH1121 for ever.
And ifH3588 a LeviteH3881 comeH935 from anyH3605 of thy gatesH8179 outH413 of allH3605 IsraelH3478, whereH834 he sojourneth, and comeH935 with allH3605 the desireH5315 of his soulH5315 unto the placeH4725 whichH834 the LORDH3068 shall chooseH977;
then he shall ministerH8334 in the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068 his GodH430, as allH3605 his brethrenH251 the LevitesH3881 doH3605, whichH8033 standH5975 there beforeH6440 the LORDH3068.
They shall have like portionsH2506 to eatH398, besideH5921 that which cometh of the saleH4465 of his patrimony.
When thou art comeH935 intoH413 the landH776 whichH834 the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 giveth thee, thou shalt notH3808 learnH3925 to doH6213 afterH413 the abominationsH8441 of thoseH834 nationsH1471.
There shall notH3808 be foundH4672 with thee anyH3808 one that maketh his sonH1121 or his daughterH1323 to passH5674 throughH5674 the fireH784, one that useth divinationH7081, one that practiseth augury, or an enchanter, or a sorcererH3784,
or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spiritH178, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
For whosoever doeth theseH428 things is an abominationH8441 unto the LORDH3068: and becauseH3588 of theseH428 abominationsH8441 the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 doth driveH3423 them outH3423 from beforeH6440 thee.
Thou shalt be perfectH8549 with the LORDH3068 thy GodH430.
For theseH428 nationsH1471, whichH834 thou shalt possessH3423, hearken unto them that practise augury, and unto divinersH7080: but as for thee, the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 hath notH3808 suffered thee soH3651 to doH8085.
