Deuteronomy 18:1-14

1The priestsH3548 the LevitesH3881, and all the tribeH7626 of LeviH3878, shall have no partH2506 nor inheritanceH5159 with IsraelH3478: they shall eatH398 the offeringsH801 of the LORDH3068 made by fireH801, and his inheritanceH5159. 2Therefore shall they have no inheritanceH5159 amongH7130 their brethrenH251: the LORDH3068 is their inheritanceH5159, as he hath saidH1696 to them. 3And this shall be the priest’sH3548 dueH4941 from the peopleH5971, from them that offerH2076 a sacrificeH2077, whether oxH7794 or sheepH7716; and they shall giveH5414 to the priestH3548 the shoulderH2220, and the two cheeksH3895, and the stomachH6896. 4The firstfruitH7225 also of thy grainH1715, of thy wineH8492, and of thy oilH3323, and the firstH7225 of the fleeceH1488 of thy sheepH6629, shalt thou giveH5414 him. 5For the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 hath chosenH977 him out of all thy tribesH7626, to standH5975 to ministerH8334 in the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068, him and his sonsH1121 for everH3117. 6And if a LeviteH3881 shall comeH935 from anyH259 of thy gatesH8179 out of all IsraelH3478, where he sojournedH1481, and comeH935 with all the desireH185 of his mindH5315 to the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 shall chooseH977; 7Then he shall ministerH8334 in the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068 his GodH430, as all his brethrenH251 the LevitesH3881 do, who standH5975 there beforeH6440 the LORDH3068. 8They shall have like portionsH2506 to eatH398, beside that which cometh of the saleH4465 of their fathers’H1 estates .1

9When thou art comeH935 into the landH776 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 givethH5414 thee, thou shalt not learnH3925 to doH6213 after the abominationsH8441 of those nationsH1471. 10There shall not be foundH4672 among you any one that maketh his sonH1121 or his daughterH1323 to passH5674 through the fireH784, or that usethH7080 divinationH7081, or an observer of timesH6049, or an enchanterH5172, or a witchH3784, 11Or a charmerH2266H2267, or a consulterH7592 with mediumsH178, or a wizardH3049, or one who calls upH1875 the deadH4191. 12For all that doH6213 these things are an abominationH8441 to the LORDH3068: and becauseH1558 of these abominationsH8441 the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 doth drive them outH3423 from beforeH6440 thee. 13Thou shalt be perfectH8549 with the LORDH3068 thy GodH430.2 14For these nationsH1471, which thou shalt possessH3423, hearkenedH8085 to observers of timesH6049, and to divinersH7080: but as for thee, the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 hath not permittedH5414 thee so to do .3
