2And I sawוָֽאֶרְאֶה֮va.'er.'EhH7200in a visionבֶּחָזוֹן֒be.cha.zOnH2377;and it came to pass, when I sawבִּרְאֹתִ֔יbir.'o.TiH7200, that I wasat Shushanבְּשׁוּשַׁ֣ןbe.shu.ShanH7800inthe palaceהַבִּירָ֔הha.bi.RahH1002, which isin the provinceהַמְּדִינָ֑הha.me.di.NahH4082of Elamבְּעֵילָ֣םbe.'ei.LamH5867;and I sawוָאֶרְאֶה֙va.'er.'EhH7200in a visionבֶּֽחָז֔וֹןbe.cha.ZonH2377,and I was by the riverאוּבַ֥ל'u.ValH180of Ulaiאוּלָֽי׃'u.LaiH195.

3Then I lifted upוָאֶשָּׂ֤אva.'e.Sa'H5375mine eyesעֵינַי֙'ei.NaiH5869,and sawוָאֶרְאֶ֔הva.'er.'EhH7200,and, behold, there stoodעֹמֵ֛ד'o.MedH5975beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the riverהָאֻבָ֖לha.'u.ValH180aאֶחָ֗ד'e.ChadH259ramאַ֣יִל'A.yilH352which had twohornsקְרָנָ֑יִםke.ra.Na.yimH7161: and the twohornsוְהַקְּרָנַ֣יִםve.ha.ke.ra.Na.yimH7161werehighגְּבֹה֗וֹתge.vo.HotH1364;but oneוְהָאַחַת֙ve.ha.'a.ChatH259washigherגְּבֹהָ֣הge.vo.HahH1364than the otherהַשֵּׁנִ֔יתha.she.NitH8145,and the higherוְהַ֨גְּבֹהָ֔הve.Ha.ge.vo.HahH1364came upעֹלָ֖ה'o.LahH5927lastבָּאַחֲרֹנָֽה׃ba.'a.cha.ro.NahH314.

4I sawרָאִ֣יתִיra.'I.tiH7200the ramהָאַ֡יִלha.'A.yilH352pushingמְנַגֵּחַ֩me.na.ge.aChH5055westwardיָ֨מָּהYa.mahH3220,and northwardוְצָפ֜וֹנָהve.tza.Fo.nahH6828,and southwardוָנֶ֗גְבָּהva.Neg.bahH5045;so that no beastsחַיּוֹת֙chai.yOtH2416might standיַֽעַמְד֣וּya.'am.DuH5975beforeלְפָנָ֔יוle.fa.NavH6440him, neither was there anythat could deliverמַצִּ֖ילma.TzilH5337out of his handמִיָּד֑וֹmi.ya.DoH3027;but he didוְעָשָׂ֥הve.'a.SahH6213according to his willכִרְצֹנ֖וֹkhir.tzo.NoH7522,and became greatוְהִגְדִּֽיל׃ve.hig.DilH1431.

5And as I was consideringמֵבִ֗יןme.VinH995,behold, an heהָֽעִזִּים֙ha.'i.ZimH5795goatצְפִיר־tze.fir-H6842cameבָּ֤אba'H935from the westהַֽמַּעֲרָב֙ha.ma.'a.RavH4628on the faceפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440of the whole earthהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776,and touchedנוֹגֵ֖עַno.Ge.a'H5060not the groundבָּאָ֑רֶץba.'A.retzH776:and the goatוְהַ֨צָּפִ֔ירve.Ha.tza.FirH6842hada notableחָז֖וּתcha.ZutH2380hornקֶ֥רֶןKe.renH7161between his eyesעֵינָֽיו׃'ei.NavH5869.

6And he cameוַיָּבֹ֗אvai.ya.Vo'H935to the ramהָאַ֙יִל֙ha.'A.yilH352that hadבַּ֣עַלBa.'alH1167twohornsהַקְּרָנַ֔יִםha.ke.ra.Na.yimH7161,which I had seenרָאִ֔יתִיra.'I.tiH7200standingעֹמֵ֖ד'o.MedH5975beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the riverהָאֻבָ֑לha.'u.ValH180,and ranוַיָּ֥רָץvai.Ya.rotzH7323unto him in the furyבַּחֲמַ֥תba.cha.MatH2534of his powerכֹּחֽוֹ׃ko.ChoH3581.

7And I sawוּרְאִיתִ֞יוu.re.'i.TivH7200him comeמַגִּ֣יעַ׀ma.Gi.a'H5060close untoאֵ֣צֶל'E.tzelH681the ramהָאַ֗יִלha.'A.yilH352,and he was moved with cholerוַיִּתְמַרְמַ֤רvai.yit.mar.MarH4843against him, and smoteוַיַּ֣ךְvai.YakhH5221the ramהָאַ֔יִלha.'A.yilH352,and brakeוַיְשַׁבֵּר֙vay.sha.BerH7665his twoשְׁתֵּ֣יshe.TeiH8147hornsקְרָנָ֔יוke.ra.NavH7161:and there was no powerכֹ֛חַKho.achH3581in the ramבָּאַ֖יִלba.'A.yilH352to standלַעֲמֹ֣דla.'a.ModH5975beforeלְפָנָ֑יוle.fa.NavH6440him, but he cast him downוַיַּשְׁלִיכֵ֤הוּvai.yash.li.Khe.huH7993to the groundאַ֙רְצָה֙'ar.tzahH776,and stampedוַֽיִּרְמְסֵ֔הוּvai.yir.me.Se.huH7429upon him: and there was none that could deliverמַצִּ֛ילma.TzilH5337the ramלָאַ֖יִלla.'A.yilH352out of his handמִיָּדֽוֹ׃mi.ya.DoH3027.

8Therefore the heוּצְפִ֥ירu.tze.FirH6842goatהָעִזִּ֖יםha.'i.ZimH5795waxed veryמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966greatהִגְדִּ֣ילhig.DilH1431:and when he was strongוּכְעָצְמ֗וֹu.khe.'a.tze.MoH6105,the greatהַגְּדוֹלָ֔הha.ge.do.LahH1419hornהַקֶּ֣רֶןha.Ke.renH7161was brokenנִשְׁבְּרָה֙nish.be.RahH7665;and for it came upוַֽתַּעֲלֶ֜נָהva.ta.'a.Le.nahH5927fourאַרְבַּע֙'ar.Ba'H702notable onesחָז֤וּתcha.ZutH2380toward the fourלְאַרְבַּ֖עle.'ar.Ba'H702windsרוּח֥וֹתru.ChotH7307of heavenהַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ha.sha.Ma.yimH8064.

9And out of oneH259of them came forthיָצָ֥אya.Tza'H3318a littleH4704hornקֶֽרֶן־ke.ren-H7161,which waxed exceedingיֶ֛תֶרYe.terH3499greatוַתִּגְדַּל־va.tig.dal-H1431,toward the southהַנֶּ֥גֶבha.Ne.gevH5045,and toward the eastהַמִּזְרָ֖חha.miz.RachH4217,and toward the pleasantהַצֶּֽבִי׃ha.Tze.viH6643land.

10And it waxed greatוַתִּגְדַּ֖לva.tig.DalH1431, evento the hostצְבָ֣אtze.Va'H6635of heavenהַשָּׁמָ֑יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064;and it cast downוַתַּפֵּ֥לva.ta.PelH5307someof the hostהַצָּבָ֥אha.tza.Va'H6635and of the starsהַכּוֹכָבִ֖יםha.ko.kha.VimH3556to the groundאַ֛רְצָה'Ar.tzahH776,and stampedוַֽתִּרְמְסֵֽם׃Va.tir.me.SemH7429upon them.

11Yea, he magnifiedהִגְדִּ֑ילhig.DilH1431himselfeven to the princeשַֽׂר־sar-H8269of the hostהַצָּבָ֖אha.tza.Va'H6635,and by him the dailyהַתָּמִ֔ידha.ta.MidH8548sacrificewas taken awayהוּרַ֣םhe.rimH7311,and the placeמְכ֥וֹןme.KhonH4349of his sanctuaryמִקְדָּשֽׁוֹ׃mik.da.ShoH4720was cast downוְהֻשְׁלַ֖ךְve.hush.LakhH7993.

12And an hostוְצָבָ֛אve.tza.Va'H6635was givenתִּנָּתֵ֥ןti.na.TenH5414himagainst the dailyהַתָּמִ֖ידha.ta.MidH8548sacrificeby reason of transgressionבְּפָ֑שַׁעbe.Fa.sha'H6588,and it cast downוְתַשְׁלֵ֤ךְve.tash.LekhH7993the truthאֱמֶת֙'e.MetH571to the groundאַ֔רְצָה'Ar.tzahH776;and it practisedוְעָשְׂתָ֖הve.'a.se.TahH6213,and prosperedוְהִצְלִֽיחָה׃ve.hitz.Li.chahH6743.

13Then I heardוָאֶשְׁמְעָ֥הva.'esh.me.'AhH8085oneאֶֽחָד־'e.chod-H259saintקָד֖וֹשׁka.Do.oshH6918speakingמְדַבֵּ֑רme.da.BerH1696,and anotherאֶחָ֨ד'e.ChadH259saintקָד֜וֹשׁka.Do.oshH6918saidוַיֹּאמֶר֩vai.yo.MerH559unto that certainלַפַּֽלְמוֹנִ֣יla.pal.mo.NiH6422saintwhich spakeהַֽמְדַבֵּ֗רham.da.BerH1696, How long shall bethe visionהֶחָז֤וֹןhe.cha.ZonH2377concerningthe dailyהַתָּמִיד֙ha.ta.MidH8548sacrifice,and the transgressionוְהַפֶּ֣שַׁעve.ha.Pe.sha'H6588of desolationשֹׁמֵ֔םsho.MemH8074,to giveתֵּ֛תtetH5414both the sanctuaryוְקֹ֥דֶשׁve.Ko.deshH6944and the hostוְצָבָ֖אve.tza.Va'H6635to be trodden under footמִרְמָֽס׃mir.MasH4823?

15And it came to pass, when I, evenI Danielדָנִיֵּ֖אלda.ni.YelH1840,had seenבִּרְאֹתִ֛יbir.'o.TiH7200the visionהֶחָז֑וֹןhe.cha.ZonH2377,and soughtוָאֲבַקְשָׁ֣הva.'a.vak.ShahH1245for the meaningבִינָ֔הvi.NahH998,then, behold, there stoodעֹמֵ֥ד'o.MedH5975before me as the appearanceכְּמַרְאֵה־ke.mar.'eh-H4758of a manגָֽבֶר׃Ga.verH1397.

16And I heardוָאֶשְׁמַ֥עva.'esh.Ma'H8085a man’sאָדָ֖ם'a.DamH120voiceקוֹל־kol-H6963between the banks ofUlaiאוּלָ֑י'u.LaiH195,which calledוַיִּקְרָא֙vai.yik.Ra'H7121,and saidוַיֹּאמַ֔רvai.yo.MarH559,Gabrielגַּבְרִיאֵ֕לgav.ri.'ElH1403,make thisלְהַלָּ֖זle.ha.LazH1975manto understandהָבֵ֥ןha.VenH995the visionהַמַּרְאֶֽה׃ha.mar.'EhH4758.
