Zechariah 1:12-16

Then the angel of the Lord said, “Lord of armies, 1how long will You 2take no pity on Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, with which You have been 3indignant for these 4seventy years?”

And the Lord responded to the 5angel who was speaking with me with 6gracious words, 7comforting words.

So the angel who was speaking with me said to me, “8Proclaim, saying, ‘This is what the Lord of armies says: “I am 9exceedingly jealous for Jerusalem and Zion.

But I am very 10angry with the nations who are 11carefree; for while I was only a little angry, they 1213furthered the disaster.”

Therefore the Lord says this: “I will 14return to Jerusalem with compassion; My 15house will be built in it,” declares the Lord of armies, “and a measuring 16line will be stretched over Jerusalem.”’
