The Doomed Flock
1OpenH6605 your doorsH1817, LebanonH3844, So that a 1fireH784 may feedH398 on your 2cedarsH730.2WailH3213, juniperH1265, becauseH3588 the cedarH730 has fallenH5307, For the magnificentH117 trees have been destroyedH7703; WailH3213, oaksH437 of BashanH1316, BecauseH3588 the 3impenetrableH1219 forestH3293 has comeH3381 downH3381.3There is a soundH6963 of the shepherds’H7462 4wailH3215, For their splendorH155 is ruinedH7703; There is a 5soundH6963 of the youngH3715 lions’H3715 roarH7581, For the 6prideH1347 of the JordanH3383 is ruinedH7703.
4ThisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the LordH3068 my GodH430 saysH559: “PastureH7462 the flockH6629 doomed to 7slaughterH2028. 5Those whoH834 buyH7069 them slaughterH2026 them and 8goH816 9unpunishedH3808H816, and each of those who sellH4376 them saysH559, ‘BlessedH1288 be the LordH3068, for 10I have becomeH6238 richH6238!’ And their 11own shepherdsH7462 haveH2550 noH3808 compassionH2550 for them. 6For I will 12noH3808 longerH5750 haveH2550 compassionH2550 for the inhabitantsH3427 of the landH776,” declaresH5002 the LordH3068; “but beholdH2009, I will 13letH4672 the peopleH120 fallH4672, eachH376 into another’sH7453 14powerH3027 and into the 15powerH3027 of his kingH4428; and they will crushH3807 the landH776, and I will 16not rescueH5337 them from their 17powerH3027.”
7So I 18pasturedH7462 the flockH6629 doomed to slaughterH2028, 19thereforeH3651 also the 20afflictedH6041 of the flockH6629. And I tookH3947 for myself twoH8147 21staffsH4731: the oneH259 I calledH7121 2223FavorH5278, and the otherH259 I calledH7121 24UnionH2260; so I pasturedH7462 the flockH6629. 8Then I didH3582 awayH3582 with the threeH7969 shepherdsH7462 in 25oneH259 monthH3391, for my soulH5315 was impatientH7114 with them, and their soulH5315 alsoH1571 26was tiredH973 of me. 9Then I saidH559, “I will not pastureH7462 you. What is to 27dieH4191, 28let it dieH4191, and what is to perishH3582, 29let it perishH3582; and 30let those who are leftH7604 eatH398 oneH802 another’sH7468 fleshH1320.” 10And I tookH3947 my staffH4731 3132FavorH5278 and cutH1438 it inH1438 piecesH1438, to 3334breakH6565 my covenantH1285 whichH834 I had madeH3772 with allH3605 the peoplesH5971. 11So it was 35brokenH6565 on that dayH3117, and 36soH3651 the 37afflictedH6041 of the flockH6629 who were watchingH8104 me realizedH3045 that it was the wordH1697 of the LordH3068. 12And I saidH559 to them, “IfH518 it is goodH2896 in your sightH5869, giveH3051 me my 38wagesH7939; but ifH518 not, 39neverH2308 mindH2308!” So they weighedH8254 outH8254 40thirtyH7970 shekels of silverH3701 as my wagesH7939. 13Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to me, “ThrowH7993 it to the 41potterH3335, that magnificentH145 priceH3366 at whichH834 I was valuedH3365 by them.” So I tookH3947 the thirtyH7970 shekels of silverH3701 and threwH7993 them to the potterH3335 in the houseH1004 of the LordH3068. 14Then I cutH1438 inH1438 piecesH1438 my secondH8145 staffH4731 42UnionH2260, to 43breakH6565 the brotherhoodH264 betweenH996 JudahH3063 and IsraelH3478.
15And the LordH3068 saidH559 to me, “TakeH3947 againH5750 for yourself the equipmentH3627 of a 44foolishH196 shepherdH7462. 16For beholdH2009, I am going to raiseH6965 upH6965 a shepherdH7462 in the landH776 who will 45not careH6485 forH6485 the perishingH3582, seekH1245 the scatteredH5289, healH7495 the brokenH7665, or provideH3557 forH3557 the one who is exhaustedH5324, but will 46devourH398 the fleshH1320 of the fatH1277 sheep and tearH6561 offH6561 their hoofsH6541.1747WoeH1945 to the worthlessH457 shepherdH7473 Who abandonsH5800 the flockH6629! A 48swordH2719 will be on his armH2220 And on his rightH3225 eyeH5869! His 49armH2220 will be totallyH3001 witheredH3001, And his rightH3225 eyeH5869 will be 50blindH3543.”
