Judges 1:21-36
211But the sonsH1121 of BenjaminH1144 did not driveH3423 outH3423 the 2JebusitesH2983 who livedH3427 in JerusalemH3389; so the JebusitesH2983 have livedH3427 with the sonsH1121 of BenjaminH1144 in JerusalemH3389 to thisH2088 dayH3117.
22LikewiseH1571 the houseH1004 of JosephH3130 wentH5927 upH5927 against BethelH1008, and the LordH3068 was with them. 23The houseH1004 of JosephH3130 had men spyH8446 outH8446 BethelH1008 (3the nameH8034 of the cityH5892 previouslyH6440 was LuzH3870). 24And the spiesH8104 sawH7200 a manH376 comingH3318 outH3318 of the cityH5892, and they saidH559 to him, “PleaseH4994 showH7200 us the entranceH3996 to the cityH5892, and 4we will treatH6213 you kindlyH2617.” 25So he showedH7200 them the entranceH3996 to the cityH5892, and they struckH5221 the cityH5892 with the edgeH6310 of the swordH2719, 5but they letH7971 the manH376 and allH3605 his familyH4940 goH7971 freeH7971. 26Then the manH376 wentH1980 to the landH776 of the HittitesH2850 and builtH1129 a cityH5892, and namedH7121H8034 it LuzH3870, 6whichH1931 is its nameH8034 to thisH2088 dayH3117.
277But ManassehH4519 did not takeH3423 possessionH3423 of Beth-sheanH1052 and its villagesH1323, or TaanachH8590 and its villagesH1323, or the inhabitantsH3427 of DorH1756 and its villagesH1323, or the inhabitantsH3427 of IbleamH2991 and its villagesH1323, or the inhabitantsH3427 of MegiddoH4023 and its villagesH1323; so 8the CanaanitesH3669 persistedH2974 in livingH3427 in thisH2088 landH776. 28And it cameH1961 aboutH1961, whenH3588 IsraelH3478 becameH2388 strongH2388, that they putH7760 the CanaanitesH3669 to forcedH4522 laborH4522; but they did not driveH3423 them outH3423 completelyH3423.
29And 9EphraimH669 did not driveH3423 outH3423 the CanaanitesH3669 who were livingH3427 in GezerH1507; so the CanaanitesH3669 livedH3427 in GezerH1507 amongH7130 them.
30ZebulunH2074 did not driveH3423 outH3423 the inhabitantsH3427 of KitronH7003, or the inhabitantsH3427 of 10NahalolH5096; so the CanaanitesH3669 livedH3427 amongH7130 them and becameH1961 subject to forcedH4522 laborH4522.
31AsherH836 did not driveH3423 outH3423 the inhabitantsH3427 of AccoH5910, or the inhabitantsH3427 of SidonH6721, or of AhlabH303, or of AchzibH392, HelbahH2462, AphikH663, or of RehobH7340. 32So the AsheritesH843 livedH3427 amongH7130 the CanaanitesH3669, the inhabitantsH3427 of the landH776; for they did not driveH3423 them outH3423.
33NaphtaliH5321 did not driveH3423 outH3423 the inhabitantsH3427 of Beth-shemeshH1053, or the inhabitantsH3427 of Beth-anathH1043, but livedH3427 amongH7130 the CanaanitesH3669, the inhabitantsH3427 of the landH776; and the inhabitantsH3427 of Beth-shemeshH1053 and Beth-anathH1043 becameH1961 forcedH4522 laborH4522 for them.
34Then the AmoritesH567 11forcedH3905 the sonsH1121 of DanH1835 into the hillH2022 countryH2022, for they did not allowH5414 them to comeH3381 downH3381 to the valleyH6010; 35yet the AmoritesH567 persistedH2974 in livingH3427 on MountH2022 HeresH2776, in AijalonH357 and ShaalbimH8169; but when the 12powerH3027 of the houseH1004 of JosephH3130 13grewH3513 strongH3513, they becameH1961 forcedH4522 laborH4522. 36The borderH1366 of the AmoritesH567 ran from the 14ascentH4610 ofH4610 AkrabbimH4610, from SelaH5554 and upwardH4605.
