Joshua 7:5-13

5And the menH376 of AiH5857 struckH5221 andH5221 killedH5221 about thirty-sixH7970H8337 of their menH376, and pursuedH7291 them 1from the gateH8179 as farH5704 as ShebarimH7671 and struckH5221 them on the mountainsideH4174; and the 2heartsH3824 of the peopleH5971 meltedH4549 and becameH1961 like waterH4325.

6Then JoshuaH3091 3toreH7167 his clothesH8071 and fellH5307 to the groundH776 on his faceH6440 beforeH6440 the arkH727 of the LordH3068 untilH5704 the eveningH6153, both he and the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478; and 4they putH5927 dustH6083 on their headsH7218. 7And JoshuaH3091 saidH559, “OhH162, LordH136 5GodH3068! WhyH4100 did You everH5674 bringH5674 thisH2088 peopleH5971 acrossH5674 the JordanH3383, only to handH3027H5414 us overH5414 to the AmoritesH567, to eliminateH6 us? IfH3863 onlyH3863 we had beenH2974 willingH2974 6to liveH3427 beyondH5676 the JordanH3383! 8OH994 LordH136, whatH4100 can I sayH559 sinceH310 IsraelH3478 has turnedH2015 their 7backH6203 beforeH6440 their enemiesH340? 98For the CanaanitesH3669 and allH3605 the inhabitantsH3427 of the landH776 will hearH8085 about it, and they will surroundH5437 us and eliminateH3772 our nameH8034 from the earthH776. And whatH4100 will You doH6213 for Your greatH1419 nameH8034?”

10So the LordH3068 saidH559 to JoshuaH3091, “StandH6965 upH6965! WhyH4100 is it that you have fallenH5307 on your faceH6440? 11IsraelH3478 has sinnedH2398, and 9they have alsoH1571 violatedH5674 My covenantH1285 whichH834 I commandedH6680 them. And they have evenH1571 takenH3947 someH4480 of the thingsH2764 designatedH2764 forH2764 destructionH2764, and have bothH1571 stolenH1589 and keptH3584 it a secretH3584. Furthermore, they have alsoH1571 putH7760 them among their own thingsH3627. 12Therefore the 10sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 cannotH3201H3808 standH6965 againstH6440 their enemiesH340; they turnH6437 their 11backsH6203 beforeH6440 their enemiesH340, becauseH3588 they have becomeH1961 designatedH2764 forH2764 destructionH2764. I will not be with you anymoreH3254 unlessH518H3808 you eliminateH8045 from your midstH7130 the thingsH2764 designatedH2764 forH2764 destructionH2764. 13StandH6965 upH6965! 12ConsecrateH6942 the peopleH5971 and sayH559, ‘ConsecrateH6942 yourselves for tomorrowH4279, becauseH3588 the LordH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, has saidH559 thisH3541: “13There are thingsH2764 designatedH2764 forH2764 destructionH2764 in your midstH7130, IsraelH3478. You cannotH3201H3808 standH6965 againstH6440 your enemiesH340 untilH5704 you have removedH5493 the designatedH2764 thingsH2764 from your midstH7130.”
