Joshua 10:16-27

16Now theseH428 1fiveH2568 kingsH4428 had fledH5127 and hiddenH2244 themselves in the caveH4631 at MakkedahH4719. 17And it was toldH5046 to JoshuaH3091, sayingH559, “The fiveH2568 kingsH4428 have been foundH4672 hiddenH2244 in the caveH4631 at MakkedahH4719.” 18So JoshuaH3091 saidH559, “RollH1556 largeH1419 stonesH68 againstH413 the mouthH6310 of the caveH4631, and postH6485 menH376 by it to guardH8104 them, 19but do not stayH5975 there yourselvesH864; pursueH7291 your enemiesH340 and 2attackH2179 them fromH2179 behindH2179. Do not allowH5414 them to enterH935 their citiesH5892, for the LordH3068 your GodH430 has handedH3027H5414 them overH5414 to you.” 20It cameH1961 aboutH1961 when JoshuaH3091 and the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 had finishedH3615 strikingH5221 them downH5221 in a veryH3966 greatH1419 defeatH4347, 3untilH5704 they were destroyedH8552, and the survivorsH8300 of them who escapedH8277 4had enteredH935 the fortifiedH4013 citiesH5892, 21that allH3605 the peopleH5971 returnedH7725 to the campH4264, to JoshuaH3091 at MakkedahH4719 in peaceH7965. NoH3808 one 5utteredH2782 a wordH3956 against any of the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478.

22Then JoshuaH3091 saidH559, “OpenH6605 the mouthH6310 of the caveH4631 and bringH3318 theseH428 fiveH2568 kingsH4428 outH3318 to me from the caveH4631.” 23They didH6213 soH3651, and 6broughtH3318 theseH428 fiveH2568 kingsH4428 outH3318 to him from the caveH4631: the kingH4428 of JerusalemH3389, the kingH4428 of HebronH2275, the kingH4428 of JarmuthH3412, the kingH4428 of LachishH3923, and the kingH4428 of EglonH5700. 24When they broughtH3318 theseH428 kingsH4428 outH3318 to JoshuaH3091, JoshuaH3091 calledH7121 for allH3605 the menH376 of IsraelH3478, and saidH559 to the leadersH7101 of the menH376 of warH4421 who had goneH1980 with him, “ComeH7126 forwardH7126, 7putH7760 your feetH7272 on the necksH6677 of theseH428 kingsH4428.” So they cameH7126 forwardH7126 and putH7760 their feetH7272 on their necksH6677. 25JoshuaH3091 then saidH559 to them, “8Do not fearH3372 or be dismayedH2865! Be strongH2388 and courageousH553, for the LordH3068 will doH6213 thisH3602 to allH3605 your enemiesH340 with whomH834 you fightH3898.” 26So afterwardH310H3651 JoshuaH3091 struckH5221 them and putH4191 them toH4191 deathH4191, and he 9hangedH8518 them on fiveH2568 10treesH6086; and they were hungH8518 on the 11treesH6086 untilH5704 eveningH6153. 27Then it cameH1961 aboutH1961 at 12sunsetH8121H935 that JoshuaH3091 gaveH6680 the commandH6680, and 13they tookH3381 them downH3381 from the 14treesH6086 and threwH7993 them into the caveH4631 whereH834H8033 they had hiddenH2244 themselves, and putH7760 largeH1419 stonesH68 overH5921 the mouthH6310 of the caveH4631, to thisH2088 veryH6106 dayH3117.
