Revelation 21:5-27

5And 1He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am 2making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for 3these words are faithful and true.” 6Then He said to me, “45It is done. I am the 6Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. 7I will give water to the one who thirsts from the spring of the 8water of life, without cost. 79The one who overcomes will inherit these things, and 10I will be his God and he will be My son. 811But for the cowardly, and 12unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and sexually immoral persons, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part will be in 13the lake that burns with fire and 14brimstone, which is the 15second death.”

916Then one of the seven angels who had the 17seven bowls, 18full of the 19seven last plagues, came and spoke with me, saying, “20Come here, I will show you the 21bride, the wife of the Lamb.” 10And 22he carried me away 2324in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me 25the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, 11having 26the glory of God. Her 27brilliance was like a very valuable stone, like a 28stone of 29crystal-clear jasper. 1230It had a great and high wall, 3132with twelve 33gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names were written on the gates, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. 13There were three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west. 14And the wall of the city had 34twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the 35twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15The one who spoke with me had a 36gold measuring 37rod to measure the city, its 38gates, and its wall. 16The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the 39rod, 40twelve thousand stadia; its length, width, and height are equal. 17And he measured its wall, 41144 cubits, by 42human 43measurements, which are also 44angelic measurements. 18The material of the wall was 45jasper; and the city was 46pure gold, like 47clear 48glass. 1949The foundation stones of the city wall were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation stone was 50jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, 51emerald; 20the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, 52sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. 21And the twelve 53gates were twelve 54pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was 55pure gold, like transparent 56glass.

22I saw 57no 58temple in it, for the 59Lord God the Almighty and the 60Lamb are its 61temple. 23And the city 62has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for 63the glory of God has illuminated it, and its lamp is the 64Lamb. 2465The nations will walk by its light, and the 66kings of the earth 67will bring their glory into it. 25In the daytime (for 68there will be no night there) 69its gates 70will never be closed; 26and 71they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; 27and 72nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those 73whose names are 74written in the Lamb’s book of life.
