Revelation 21:2-27

2And I saw 1the holy city, 2new Jerusalem, 3coming down out of heaven from God, 4prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, 5the tabernacle of God is among the people, and He will 6dwell among them, and they shall be His 7people, and God Himself will be among them8, 4and He will 9wipe away every tear from their eyes; and 10there will no longer be any death; 11there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; 12the first things have passed away.”

5And 13He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am 14making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for 15these words are faithful and true.” 6Then He said to me, “1617It is done. I am the 18Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. 19I will give water to the one who thirsts from the spring of the 20water of life, without cost. 721The one who overcomes will inherit these things, and 22I will be his God and he will be My son. 823But for the cowardly, and 24unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and sexually immoral persons, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part will be in 25the lake that burns with fire and 26brimstone, which is the 27second death.”

928Then one of the seven angels who had the 29seven bowls, 30full of the 31seven last plagues, came and spoke with me, saying, “32Come here, I will show you the 33bride, the wife of the Lamb.” 10And 34he carried me away 3536in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me 37the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, 11having 38the glory of God. Her 39brilliance was like a very valuable stone, like a 40stone of 41crystal-clear jasper. 1242It had a great and high wall, 4344with twelve 45gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names were written on the gates, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. 13There were three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west. 14And the wall of the city had 46twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the 47twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15The one who spoke with me had a 48gold measuring 49rod to measure the city, its 50gates, and its wall. 16The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the 51rod, 52twelve thousand stadia; its length, width, and height are equal. 17And he measured its wall, 53144 cubits, by 54human 55measurements, which are also 56angelic measurements. 18The material of the wall was 57jasper; and the city was 58pure gold, like 59clear 60glass. 1961The foundation stones of the city wall were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation stone was 62jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, 63emerald; 20the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, 64sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. 21And the twelve 65gates were twelve 66pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was 67pure gold, like transparent 68glass.

22I saw 69no 70temple in it, for the 71Lord God the Almighty and the 72Lamb are its 73temple. 23And the city 74has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for 75the glory of God has illuminated it, and its lamp is the 76Lamb. 2477The nations will walk by its light, and the 78kings of the earth 79will bring their glory into it. 25In the daytime (for 80there will be no night there) 81its gates 82will never be closed; 26and 83they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; 27and 84nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those 85whose names are 86written in the Lamb’s book of life.
