Numbers 25:10-13

10Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 11“1Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has averted My wrath from the sons of Israel in that he was 2jealous with My 3jealousy among them, so that I did not destroy the sons of Israel 4in My 5jealousy. 12Therefore say, ‘6Behold, I am giving him My 7covenant of peace; 13and it shall be for him and for his 8descendants after him, a covenant of a 9permanent priesthood, because he was 10jealous for his God and 11made atonement for the sons of Israel.’”
