Micah 7:2-20

2The 1godly person has 2perished from the land, And there is no upright person among mankind. All of them lie in wait for 3bloodshed; Each of them hunts the other with a 4net.3As for evil, both hands do it 5well. The leader asks for a 6bribe, also the judge, And the great one speaks the capricious desire of his soul; So they plot it together.4The best of them is like a 7thorn bush, The most upright like a 8thorn hedge. The day 9when you post your watchmen, Your 10punishment is coming. Then their 11confusion will occur.5Do not 12trust in a neighbor; Do not have confidence in a close friend. Guard 13your lips From her who lies 14in your arms.6For 15son disavows father, Daughter rises up against her mother, Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; 16A person’s enemies are the people of his own household.

7But as for me, I will 17be on the watch for the Lord; I will 18wait for the God of my salvation. My 19God will hear me.820Do not rejoice over me, 21enemy of mine. Though I fall I will 22rise; Though I live in darkness, the Lord is a 23light for me.

9I will endure the rage of the Lord Because I have sinned against Him, Until He 24pleads my case and executes justice for me. He will bring me out to the 25light, And I will look at His 2627righteousness.10Then my enemy will see, And shame will cover her who 28said to me, “Where is the Lord your God?” My eyes will look at her; 29At that time she will 30be 31trampled down Like mud of the streets.11It will be a day for 32building your walls. On that day your boundary will be extended.12It will be a day when 33they will 34come to you From Assyria and the cities of Egypt, From Egypt even to the Euphrates River, Even from sea to sea and mountain to mountain.13And the earth will become a 35wasteland because of her inhabitants, On account of the 36fruit of their deeds.

1437Shepherd Your people with Your 38scepter, The flock of Your 39possession Which lives by itself in the woodland, In the midst of 40a fruitful field. Let them feed in 41Bashan and Gilead 42As in the days of old.15“As in the days when you went out from the land of Egypt, I will show 4344you miracles.”16Nations 45will see and be ashamed Of all their might. They will 46put their hand on their mouth, Their ears will be deaf.17They will 47lick up dust like a snake, Like 4849reptiles of the earth. They will come 50trembling out of their 51fortresses; To the Lord our God they will come in 52trepidation, And they will be afraid of You.18Who is a God like You, who 53pardons wrongdoing And passes over a rebellious act of the 54remnant of His 55possession? He does not 56retain His anger forever, Because He 57delights in mercy.19He will again take pity on us; 58He will trample on our wrongdoings. Yes, You will 59cast all 60their sins Into the depths of the sea.20You will give 6162truth to Jacob And favor to Abraham, Which You 63swore to our forefathers From the days of old.
