Micah 7:2-20
2The 1godly person has 2perished from the land, And there is no upright person among men. All of them lie in wait for 3bloodshed; Each of them hunts the other with a 4net.3Concerning evil, both hands do it 5well. The prince asks, also the judge, for a 6bribe, And a great man speaks the desire of his soul; So they weave it together.4The best of them is like a 7briar, The most upright like a 8thorn hedge. The day when you post your watchmen, Your 9punishment will come. Then their 10confusion will occur.5Do not 11trust in a neighbor; Do not have confidence in a friend. From her who lies in your bosom Guard 12your lips.6For 13son treats father contemptuously, Daughter rises up against her mother, Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; 14A man’s enemies are the men of his own household.
7But as for me, I will 15watch expectantly for the Lord; I will 16wait for the God of my salvation. My 17God will hear me.818Do not rejoice over me, O 19my enemy. Though I fall I will 20rise; Though I dwell in darkness, the Lord is a 21light for me.
9I will bear the indignation of the Lord Because I have sinned against Him, Until He 22pleads my case and executes justice for me. He will bring me out to the 23light, And I will see His 2425righteousness.10Then my enemy will see, And shame will cover her who 26said to me, “Where is the Lord your God?” My eyes will look on her; 27At that time she will 28be 29trampled down Like mire of the streets.11It will be a day for 30building your walls. On that day will your boundary be extended.12It will be a day when 31they will 32come to you From Assyria and the cities of Egypt, From Egypt even to the 33Euphrates, Even from sea to sea and mountain to mountain.13And the earth will become 34desolate because of her inhabitants, On account of the 35fruit of their deeds.
1436Shepherd Your people with Your 37scepter, The flock of Your 38possession Which dwells by itself in the woodland, In the midst of 39a fruitful field. Let them feed in 40Bashan and Gilead 41As in the days of old.15“As in the days when you came out from the land of Egypt, I will show 4243you miracles.”16Nations 44will see and be ashamed Of all their might. They will 45put their hand on their mouth, Their ears will be deaf.17They will 46lick the dust like a serpent, Like 47reptiles of the earth. They will come 48trembling out of their 49fortresses; To the Lord our God they will come in 50dread And they will be afraid before You.18Who is a God like You, who 51pardons iniquity And passes over the rebellious act of the 52remnant of His 53possession? He does not 54retain His anger forever, Because He 55delights in 56unchanging love.19He will again have compassion on us; 57He will tread our iniquities under foot. Yes, You will 58cast all 59their sins Into the depths of the sea.20You will give 6061truth to Jacob And 62unchanging love to Abraham, Which You 63swore to our forefathers From the days of old.
