Matthew 27:25-30

25And all the people replied, “1His blood shall be on us and on our children!” 26Then he released Barabbas 2for them; but after having Jesus 3flogged, he handed Him over to be crucified.

274Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into 5the 6Praetorium and gathered the whole Roman 78cohort to Him. 28And they stripped Him and 9put a red 10cloak on Him. 2911And after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and put a 12reed in His right hand; and they knelt down before Him and mocked Him, saying, “13Hail, King of the Jews!” 30And 14they spit on Him, and took the reed and beat Him on the head.
