Matthew 11:13-21
13For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John. 14And if you are willing to accept it, John himself is 1Elijah who 2was to come. 153The one who has ears to hear, 4let him hear.
16“But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call out to the other children, 17and say, ‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a song of mourning, and you did not 5mourn.’ 18For John came neither 6eating nor 7drinking, and they say, ‘8He has a demon!’ 19The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a 9heavy drinker, 10a friend of tax collectors and 11sinners!’ And yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.”
20Then He began to reprimand the cities in which most of His 1213miracles were done, because they did not repent. 21“14Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, 15Bethsaida! For if the 16miracles that occurred in you had occurred in 17Tyre and 18Sidon, they would have repented long ago in 1920sackcloth and ashes.
