Luke 24:31-40
31And then their 1eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from 2their sight. 32They said to one another, “3Were our hearts not burning within us when He was speaking to us on the road, while He 4was 5explaining the Scriptures to us?” 33And they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and 6found the eleven gathered together and 7those who were with them, 34saying, “8The Lord has really risen and 9has appeared to Simon!” 35They began to relate 10their experiences on the road, and how 11He was recognized by them at the breaking of the bread.
36Now while they were telling these things, 12Jesus Himself suddenly stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be to you.” 37But they were startled and frightened, and thought that they were looking at 13a spirit. 38And He said to them, “Why are you frightened, and why are doubts arising in your 14hearts? 3915See My hands and My feet, that 16it is I Myself; 17touch Me and see, because a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you plainly see that I have.” 40And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet.
