Luke 24:31-40

31Then their 1eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from 2their sight. 32They said to one another, “3Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He 4was 5explaining the Scriptures to us?” 33And they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and 6found gathered together the eleven and 7those who were with them, 34saying, “8The Lord has really risen and 9has appeared to Simon.” 35They began to relate 10their experiences on the road and how 11He was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.

36While they were telling these things, 12He Himself stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be to you.” 37But they were startled and frightened and thought that they were seeing 13a spirit. 38And He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your 14hearts? 3915See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; 16touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.” 40And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet.
