Luke 19:29-46
291When He approached Bethphage and 2Bethany, near the 3mountain that is called 4Olivet, He sent two of the disciples, 30saying, “Go into the village 5ahead of you; there, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, on which no one yet has ever sat; untie it and bring it here. 31And if anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this: ‘6The Lord has need of it.’” 32So those who were sent left and found it just as He had told them. 33And as they were untying the colt, its 7owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?” 34They said, “8The Lord has need of it.” 35And they brought it to Jesus, 9and they threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it. 36Now as He was going, they were spreading their cloaks on the road. 37And as soon as He was approaching, near the descent of 10the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to 11praise God 12joyfully with a loud voice for all the 13miracles which they had seen, 3814shouting: “15Blessed is the 16King, the One who comes in the name of the Lord; Peace in heaven and 17glory in the highest!” 3918And yet some of the Pharisees 19in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples!” 40Jesus replied, “I tell you, if these stop speaking, 20the stones will cry out!”
41When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and 21wept over it, 42saying, “If you had known on this day, even you, the conditions for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes. 43For the days will come upon you 22when your enemies will 23put up a 24barricade against you, and 25surround you and hem you in on every side, 44and they will level you to the ground, and throw down your children within you, and 26they will not leave in you one stone upon 27another, because you did not recognize 28the time of your visitation.”
4529And Jesus entered the temple grounds and began to drive out those who were selling, 46saying to them, “It is written: ‘30And My house will be a house of prayer,’ 31but you have made it a den of robbers.”
