Jonah 2:3-10

3For You 1threw me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas, And the current flowed around me. All Your 2breakers and waves passed over me.4So I said, ‘I have been 3cast out 4of Your sight. Nevertheless I will look again 5toward Your holy temple.’5 6Water encompassed me to the 7point of death. The 8deep flowed around me, Seaweed was wrapped around my head.6I 9descended to the base of the mountains. The earth with its 10bars was around me forever, But You have 11brought up my life from 12the pit, Lord my God.7While 13I was 14fainting away, I 15remembered the Lord, And my 16prayer came to You, Into 17Your holy temple.8Those who 18are followers of worthless 19idols Abandon their faithfulness,9But I will 20sacrifice to You With a voice of thanksgiving. That which I have vowed I will 21pay. 22Salvation is from the Lord.”

10Then the Lord commanded the 23fish, and it vomited Jonah up onto the dry land.
