Jonah 2:3-10
3For You had 1cast me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas, And the current 2engulfed me. All Your 3breakers and billows passed over me.4So I said, ‘I have been 4expelled from 5Your sight. Nevertheless I will look again 6toward Your holy temple.’57Water encompassed me to the 8point of death. The great 9deep 10engulfed me, Weeds were wrapped around my head.6I 11descended to the roots of the mountains. The earth with its 12bars was around me forever, But You have 13brought up my life from 14the pit, O Lord my God.7While 15I was 16fainting away, I 17remembered the Lord, And my 18prayer came to You, Into 19Your holy temple.8Those who 20regard 21vain idols Forsake their faithfulness,9But I will 22sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving. That which I have vowed I will 23pay. 24Salvation is from the Lord.”
10Then the Lord commanded the 25fish, and it vomited Jonah up onto the dry land.
