Jonah 2:2-9
2and he said, “I 1called out of my distress to the Lord, And He answered me. I called for help from the 2depth of 3Sheol; You heard my voice.3For You 4threw me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas, And the current flowed around me. All Your 5breakers and waves passed over me.4So I said, ‘I have been 6cast out 7of Your sight. Nevertheless I will look again 8toward Your holy temple.’59Water encompassed me to the 10point of death. The 11deep flowed around me, Seaweed was wrapped around my head.6I 12descended to the base of the mountains. The earth with its 13bars was around me forever, But You have 14brought up my life from 15the pit, Lord my God.7While 16I was 17fainting away, I 18remembered the Lord, And my 19prayer came to You, Into 20Your holy temple.8Those who 21are followers of worthless 22idols Abandon their faithfulness,9But I will 23sacrifice to You With a voice of thanksgiving. That which I have vowed I will 24pay. 25Salvation is from the Lord.”
