John 6:51-65

51 1I am the living bread that 2came down out of heaven; if anyone eats from this bread, 3he will live forever; and the bread which I will give 4for the life of the world also is 5My flesh.”

52 6Then the Jews 7began to argue with one another, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?” 53So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of 8the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. 54The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will 9raise him up on the last day. 55For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. 56The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood 10remains in Me, and I in him. 57Just as the 11living Father 12sent Me, and I live because of the Father, the one who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. 58This is the bread that 13came down out of heaven, not as 14the fathers ate and died; the one who eats this bread 15will live forever.” 59These things He said 16in the synagogue as He taught 17in Capernaum.

60So then many of His 18disciples, when they heard this, said, “19This statement is very 20unpleasant; who can listen to it?” 61But Jesus, 21aware that His disciples were complaining about this, said to them, “Is this 22 23offensive to you? 62What then if you see 24the Son of Man 25ascending to where He was before? 63 26It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh provides no benefit; 27the words that I have spoken to you are spirit, and are life. 64But there are 28some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus 29knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and 30who it was who would 31betray Him. 65And He was saying, “For this reason I have 32told you that no one can come to Me unless 33it has been granted him from the Father.”
