John 5:30-47

30“1I can do nothing 2on My own. As I hear, I judge; and 3My judgment is 4righteous, because I do not seek My own will but 5the will of Him who sent Me.

31“6If I alone testify about Myself, My testimony is not 7true. 32There is 8another who testifies about Me, and I know that the testimony which He gives about Me is true. 33You have sent messengers to John, and he 9has testified to the truth. 34But 10the testimony I receive is not from man, but I say these things so that you may be saved. 35He was 11the lamp that was burning and shining, and you 12were willing to rejoice for 13a while in his light. 36But the testimony I have is greater than the testimony of John; for 14the works which the Father has given Me 15to accomplish--the very works that I do--testify about Me, that the Father 16has sent Me. 37And the Father who sent Me, 17He has testified about Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form. 38Also you do not have 18His word remaining in you, because you do not believe Him whom He 19sent. 392021You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is 22those very Scriptures that testify about Me; 40and yet you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life. 4123I do not receive glory from people; 42but I know you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves. 43I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not 24receive Me; 25if another comes in his own name, you will 26receive him. 44How can you believe, when you 2728accept 29glory from one another and you do not seek 30the 31glory that is from 32the one and only God? 45Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is 33Moses, in whom you have put your hope. 46For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for 34he wrote about Me. 47But 35if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
