John 21:15-18

Now when they had 1finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you 23love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I 4love You.” He said to him, “Tend 5My lambs.”

He said to him again, a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you 6love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I 7love You.” He said to him, “8Shepherd My sheep.”

He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you 9love Me?” Peter was 10hurt because He said to him 11the third time, “Do you 12love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, 13You know all things; You know that I 14love You.” Jesus said to him, “15Tend My sheep.

Truly, truly I tell you, when you were younger, you used to put on your belt and walk wherever you wanted; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will put your belt on you, and bring you where you do not want to go.”
