John 14:1-20

1“1Do not let your heart be troubled; 2believe in God, believe also in Me. 2In My Father’s house are many 3rooms; if that were not so, 4I would have told you, because 5I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, 6I am coming again and will take you to Myself, so that 7where I am, there you also will be. 4And you know the way where I am going.” 5 8Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going; how do we know the way?” 6Jesus said to him, “I am 9the way, and 10the truth, and 11the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me. 7 12If you 13had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you 14know Him, and have 15seen Him.”

8 16Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” 9Jesus said to him, “Have I been with 17you for so long a time, and yet 18you have not come to know Me, Philip? 19The one who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10Do you not believe that 20I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? 21The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own, but the Father, as He remains in Me, does His works. 11Believe Me that 22I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise 23believe because of the works themselves. 12Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and 24greater works than these he will do; because 25I am going to the Father. 13And 26whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that 27the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14If you ask Me anything 28in My name, I will do it.

15“29If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. 16I will ask the Father, and He will give you another 30 31Helper, so that He may be with you forever; 17the Helper is 32the Spirit of truth, 33whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him; but you know Him because He remains with you and will be in you.

18“I will not leave you as orphans; 34I am coming to you. 19 35 36After a little while, 37the world no longer is going to see Me, but you are going to see Me; 38because I live, you also will live. 20 39On that day you will know that 40I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I in you.
