John 1:37-51

37And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. 38And Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, “What are you seeking?” They said to Him, “1Rabbi (which translated means Teacher), where are You staying?” 39He said to them, “Come, and you will see.” So they came and saw where He was staying, and they stayed with Him that day; it was about the 2tenth hour. 403One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 41He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the 4Messiah” (which translated means 5Christ). 42He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of 67John; you shall be called 8Cephas” (which is translated 910Peter).

4311The next day He 12decided to go to 13Galilee, and He found 14Philip. And Jesus said to him, “15Follow Me.” 44Now 16Philip was from 17Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. 4518Philip found 19Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom 20Moses wrote in the Law, and 21the prophets also wrote: Jesus 22the son of Joseph, from 23Nazareth!” 46Nathanael said to him, “24Can anything good be from Nazareth?” 25Philip said to him, “Come and see.” 47Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and said of him, “Here is truly an 26Israelite, in whom there is no deceit!” 48Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before 27Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49Nathanael answered Him, “28Rabbi, You are 29the Son of God; You are the 30King of Israel!” 50Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” 51And He said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see 31heaven opened and 32the angels of God ascending and descending on 33the Son of Man.”
