Job 9:13-35

13“God will not turn back His anger; Beneath Him the helpers of 12Rahab cower.14How then can 3I 4answer Him, And choose my words 5before Him?15For 6though I were right, I could not 7answer; I would have to 8implore the mercy of my Judge.16If I called and He answered me, I could not believe that He was listening to my voice.17For He 9bruises me with a storm And multiplies my wounds without cause.18He will 10not allow me to get my breath, But He saturates me with 11bitterness.19If it is a matter of power, 12behold, He is the strong one! And if it is a matter of justice, who can summon 13Him?2014Though I am righteous, my mouth will 15condemn me; Though I am guiltless, He will declare me guilty.21I am 16guiltless; I do not take notice of myself; I 17reject my life.22It is all one; therefore I say, ‘He 18destroys the guiltless and the wicked.’23If the whip kills suddenly, He 19mocks the despair of the innocent.24The earth 20is handed over to the wicked; He 21covers the faces of its judges. If it is not He, then who is it?

25“Now 22my days are swifter than a runner; They flee away, 23they see no good.26They slip by like 24reed boats, Like an 25eagle that swoops on 26its prey.27Though I say, ‘I will forget 27my complaint, I will 28put my face in order and be cheerful,’28I am 29afraid of all my pains, I know that 30You will not acquit me.29I am 31guilty, Why then should I struggle in vain?30If I 32washed myself with snow, And cleansed 33my hands with lye,31Then You would plunge me into the pit, And my own clothes would loathe me.32For 34He is not a man, as I am, that 35I may answer Him-- That we may go to 36court together!33There is no 37arbitrator between us, Who can place his hand upon us both.34Let Him 38remove His rod from me, And let not the dread of Him terrify me.35Then I 39would speak and not fear Him; But I am not like that in myself.
