Jeremiah 48:9-15
9Give 12wings to Moab, For she will 3flee away; And her cities will become a 4desolation, Without inhabitants in them.105Cursed is the one who does the Lord’s work 6negligently, And cursed is the one who restrains his 7sword from blood.
11“Moab has been 8at ease since his youth; He has also been 9peaceful, like wine on 10its dregs, And he has not been 11poured from vessel to vessel, Nor has he gone into exile. Therefore 12he retains his flavor, And his aroma has not changed. 12Therefore behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will send to him those who tip vessels, and they will tip him over, and they will pour out his vessels and smash 13his jars. 13And Moab will be 14ashamed of 15Chemosh, just as the house of Israel was ashamed of 16Bethel, their confidence.14How can you say, ‘We are 17warriors, And men competent for battle’?15Moab has been destroyed and 18men have gone up to 19his cities; His choicest 2021young men have also gone down to the slaughter,” Declares the 22King, whose name is the Lord of armies.
