Hosea 4:8-13
8They 1feed on the 2sin of My people, And 3long for their wrongdoing.9And it will be, like people, 4like priest; So I will 5punish them for their ways And repay them for their deeds.106They will eat, but not have enough; They will 7play the prostitute, but not 8increase, Because they 9gave up devoting themselves to the Lord.
1110Infidelity, 11wine, and new wine take away the 12understanding.12My people 13consult their wooden idol, and their diviner’s wand informs them; For a spirit of infidelity has led them astray, And they have been unfaithful, departing 14from their God.13They offer sacrifices on the 15tops of the mountains And 1617burn incense on the hills, 18Under oak, poplar, and terebinth, Because their shade is pleasant. Therefore your daughters play the prostitute, And your 19brides commit adultery.
