Hosea 4:8-13
8They 1feed on the 2sin of My people And 3direct their desire toward their iniquity.9And it will be, like people, 4like priest; So I will 5punish them for their ways And repay them for their deeds.106They will eat, but not have enough; They will 7play the harlot, but not increase, Because they have 89stopped giving heed to the Lord.
11Harlotry, 10wine and new wine take away the 11understanding.12My people 12consult their wooden idol, and their diviner’s wand informs them; For a spirit of harlotry has led them astray, And they have played the harlot, departing 13from their God.13They offer sacrifices on the 14tops of the mountains And 1516burn incense on the hills, 17Under oak, poplar and terebinth, Because their shade is pleasant. Therefore your daughters play the harlot And your 18brides commit adultery.
