Hosea 11:2-7

2The more 1 2they called them, The more they went away from 3them; They kept 4sacrificing to the Baals And 5burning incense to idols.3Yet it is I who taught Ephraim to walk, 6I 7took them in My arms; But they did not know that I 8healed them.4I 9pulled them along with cords of a man, with ropes of love, And 10I became to them as one who lifts the yoke from their jaws; And I bent down and 11fed them.

5 12They will not return to the land of Egypt; But Assyria--he will be 13their king Because they 14refused to return to Me.6And the 15sword will whirl against 16their cities, And will destroy 17their oracle priests And 18consume them, because of their 19counsels.7So My people are determined to 20turn from Me. Though 21they call 22them to the One on high, None at all exalts Him.
