Galatians 2:11-16
11But when 1Cephas came to 2Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he 3stood condemned. 12For prior to the coming of some men from 45James, he used to 6eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he began to withdraw and separate himself, 7fearing those from the circumcision. 13The rest of the Jews joined him in hypocrisy, with the result that even 8Barnabas was carried away by their hypocrisy. 14But when I saw that they 9were not 10straightforward about 11the truth of the gospel, I said to 12Cephas in the presence of all, “If you, being a Jew, 13live like the Gentiles and not like the Jews, how is it that you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?14
15“We are 15Jews by nature and not 16sinners from the Gentiles; 16nevertheless, knowing that 17a person is not justified by works of 18the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by 19faith in Christ and not by works of 20the Law; since 21by works of 22the Law no 23flesh will be justified.
