Galatians 1:13-24

13For you have heard of 1my former way of life in Judaism, how I 2used to persecute 3the church of God beyond measure and 4tried to destroy it; 14and I 5was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries among my 6countrymen, being more extremely zealous for my 7ancestral traditions. 15But when 8He who had set me apart even from my mother’s womb and 9called me through His grace was pleased 16to reveal His Son in me so that I might 10preach Him among the Gentiles, 11I did not immediately consult with 12 13flesh and blood, 17 14nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went away to Arabia, and returned once more to 15Damascus.

18Then 16three years later I went up 17to Jerusalem to 18become acquainted with 19 20Cephas, and stayed with him for fifteen days. 19But I did not see another one of the apostles except 21 22James, the Lord’s brother. 20(Now in what I am writing to you, 23I assure you 24before God that I am not lying.) 21Then 25I went into the regions of 26Syria and 27Cilicia. 22I was still unknown by 28sight to 29the churches of Judea which are 30in Christ; 23but they only kept hearing, “The man who once persecuted us is now preaching 31the faith which he once 32tried to destroy.” 24And they 33were glorifying God 34because of me.
