Ezekiel 17:13-18
13Then he took one of the royal 12family and made a covenant with him, 3putting him under 4oath. He also took away the 5mighty of the land,
14so that the kingdom would 6be humbled, not exalting itself, but keeping his covenant so that it might continue.
15But 7he 8revolted against 9him by sending his messengers to Egypt so that they might give him horses and many 10troops. Will he succeed? Will he who does these things 11escape? Can he indeed break the covenant and escape?
16As I live,’ declares the Lord God, ‘In the 12country of the king who 13put him on the throne, whose oath he 14despised and whose covenant he broke, 1516in Babylon he shall certainly die.
1717Pharaoh with his mighty army and great contingent will not 18help him in the war, when they pile up assault ramps and build siege walls to eliminate many lives.
18Now he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, and behold, he 1920pledged his allegiance, yet did all these things; he shall not escape.’”
