Deuteronomy 6:2-9
2so that you, your son, and your grandson will 1fear the Lord your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, 2all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged. 3Now Israel, you shall listen and be careful to do them, so that 3it may go well for you and that you may increase greatly, just as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has 4promised you, in 5a land flowing with milk and honey.
4“6Hear, Israel! The Lord is our God, the 7Lord is one! 5And 8you shall love the Lord your God 9with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 610These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. 7And 11you shall repeat them diligently to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. 812You shall also tie them as a 13sign to your 14hand, and they shall be as 15frontlets 16on your forehead. 917You shall also write them on the 18doorposts of your house and on your gates.
