Daniel 8:20-26
20The 1ram which you saw with the two horns represents the kings of Media and Persia. 21The shaggy 2goat represents the 3kingdom of Greece, and the large horn that is between his eyes is the first king. 22The 4broken horn and the four horns that came up in its place represent four kingdoms which will arise from his nation, although not with his power.23And in the latter period of their 5dominion, When the wrongdoers have 6run their course, A king will arise, 7Insolent and skilled in 8intrigue.24And his power will be mighty, but not by his own power, And he will 910destroy to an extraordinary degree And be successful and do as he pleases; He will 11destroy mighty men and 12the holy people.25And through his shrewdness He will make deceit a success by his 13influence; And he will make himself great in his 14own mind, And he will 15destroy many while they are 16at ease. He will even 1718oppose the Prince of princes, But he will be broken 19without 20human agency.26And the vision of the evenings and mornings Which has been told is 21true; But as for you, 22keep the vision secret, Because it pertains to many 23days in the future.”
