Acts 6:2-6

2So the twelve summoned the 1congregation of the disciples and said, “It is not desirable for us to neglect the word of God in order to serve tables. 3Instead, 2brothers and sisters, select from among you seven men of good reputation, 3full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge of this task. 4But we will 4devote ourselves to prayer and to the 5ministry of the word.” 5The 6announcement found approval with the whole 7congregation; and they chose 8Stephen, a man 9full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and 10Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and 11Nicolas, a 1213proselyte from 14Antioch. 6And they brought these men before the apostles; and after 15praying, they 16laid their hands on them.
