Acts 13:32-37

And we 1preach to you the good news of 2the promise made to the fathers,

that God has fulfilled this promise to those of us who are the descendants by 3raising Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm: ‘4You are My Son; today I have fathered You.’

As for the fact that He 5raised Him from the dead, never again to return to decay, He has spoken in this way: ‘6I will give you the holy and faithful mercies of David.’

Therefore, He also says in another Psalm: ‘7You will not 8allow Your 9Holy One to 10undergo decay.’

For 11David, after he had 12served God’s 13purpose in his own generation, 14fell asleep, and was 15buried among his fathers and 16underwent decay;

but He whom God 17raised did not 18undergo decay.
