Acts 11:17-26
17Therefore, if 1God gave them the same gift as He also gave to us after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, 2who was I that I could 3stand in God’s way?” 18When they heard this, they 4quieted down and 5glorified God, saying, “Well then, God has also granted to the Gentiles the 6repentance that leads to life.”
197So then those who were scattered because of the 8persecution that occurred in connection with Stephen made their way 9to 10Phoenicia, 11Cyprus, and 12Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews alone. 20But there were some of them, men of 13Cyprus and 14Cyrene, who came to 15Antioch and began speaking to the 1617Greeks as well, 18preaching the good news of the Lord Jesus. 21And 19the hand of the Lord was with them, and 20a large number who believed turned to the Lord. 22The 21news about them 22reached the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent 23Barnabas off 24to 25Antioch. 23Then when he arrived and 26witnessed 27the grace of God, he rejoiced and began to encourage them all with 28resolute heart to remain true to the Lord; 24for he was a good man, and 29full of the Holy Spirit and faith. And 3031considerable numbers were added to the Lord. 25And he left for 32Tarsus to look for Saul; 26and when he had found him, he brought him to 33Antioch. And for an entire year they 34met with the church and taught 35considerable numbers of people; and 36the disciples were first called 37Christians in 38Antioch.
