2 Timothy 2:16-22

16But 1avoid 2worldly and empty chatter, for 3it will lead to further ungodliness, 17and their 4talk will spread like 5gangrene. Among them are 6Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18men who have gone astray from the truth, claiming that 7the resurrection has already taken place; and they are jeopardizing 8the faith of some. 19Nevertheless, the 9firm foundation of God stands, having this 10seal: “11The Lord knows those who are His;” and, “12Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to keep away from wickedness.”

20Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver implements, but also implements of wood and of earthenware, and 13some are for honor while others are for dishonor. 21Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from 14these things, he will be an implement for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, 15prepared for every good work. 22Now 16flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, 17faith, love, and peace with those who 18call on the Lord 19from a pure heart.
