2 Thessalonians 2:7-17

7For 1the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only 2 3He who now restrains will do so until 4He is 5removed. 8Then that lawless one 6will be revealed, whom the Lord will eliminate 7with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the 8appearance of His 9coming; 9that is, the one whose 10coming is in accord with the activity of 11Satan, with all power and false 12 13signs and wonders, 10and with 14all the deception of wickedness for 15those who perish, because they did not accept the love of 16the truth so as to be saved. 11For this reason 17God 18will send upon them 19a 20deluding influence so that they will believe 21what is false, 12in order that they all may be 22judged who 23did not believe the truth, but 24 25took pleasure in wickedness.

13 26But we should always give thanks to God for you, 27brothers and sisters beloved by the Lord, because 28God has chosen you 29from the beginning 30for salvation 31 32through sanctification 33by the Spirit and faith in the truth. 14It was for this He 34called you through 35our gospel, 36that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15So then, brothers and sisters, 37stand firm and 38hold on to the traditions which you were taught, whether 39by word of mouth or 40by letter 41from us.

16 42Now may our Lord Jesus Christ 43Himself and God our Father, who has 44loved us and given us eternal comfort and 45good hope by grace, 17 46comfort and 47strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.
