2 Peter 3:5-10
5For 1when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that 2by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was 3formed out of water and by water, 6through which 4the world at that time was 5destroyed by being flooded with water. 7But by His word 6the present heavens and earth are being reserved for 7fire, kept for 8the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly people.
8But do not let this one fact escape your notice, 9beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and 10a thousand years like one day. 911The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but 12is patient toward you, 13not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance. 10But 14the day of the Lord 15will come like a thief, in which 16the heavens 17will pass away with a roar and the 18elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and 19the earth and 20its works will be 21discovered.
